‘Final Report’, a film by Oscar-winning Hungarian director Istvan Szabo, is to participate at Fajr Int'l Film Festival in Iran.

‘Final Report’, a new film by Oscar-winning Hungarian director Istvan Szabo, is set to participate at the 38th Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF) in Iran.

‘Final Report’ was premiered at the 24th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia.

The film narrates the story of a soon-to-be-retired man whose professional career is about to end, but his life is not yet finished.

Szabo’s 1981 movie ‘Mephisto’ was the first Hungarian film to win the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

Earlier reports said Ukrainian film ‘We are Here. We are Close’ by the prominent director, Roman Balayan, will compete at FIFF.

Roman Balayan is a Ukrainian-Armenian film director who considers himself as the student of Sergei Parajanov, one of the 20th century's greatest masters of cinema.

This year, the Fajr International Film Festival opens in Tehran on May 26 and runs until June 2.

The 2020 edition of the FIFF was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Since its establishment in 1982, the Fajr Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

The 39th edition of the national version of the festival was held on January 31-February 10.
